Next week I’m changing jobs from IT Security back into our Apps Development area. I have really enjoyed the work in security, but the stuff I really want to do (vulnerability assessment, pen testing, etc.) isn’t something I’ll ever get the chance to do here. On the other hand, the area I’m going back to has some very interesting work using ColdFusion, Java and MQ Series for forms delivery and management. I’ll be managing that work as well as evaluation of other options for online government forms management – we’ll be investigating the Adobe LiveCycle suite as a possible platform.
Consequently, I’ve been busy at Amazon updating my CF and general development library with the following:
- Macromedia ColdFusion MX 7 Web Application Construction Kit (Web Application Construction Kit)
- Advanced Macromedia ColdFusion MX 7 Application Development
- Macromedia ColdFusion MX 7 Certified Developer Study Guide – this one in order to recertify at WebDU 2006
- Pragmatic Version Control Using Subversion
- Pragmatic Unit Testing in Java with JUnit
- Pragmatic Project Automation: How to Build, Deploy, and Monitor Java Apps
Lots of reading to do!
In this new job, I might even get to do a little coding if I’m lucky!
